Looking down on the floor. Measure at floor level, wall to wall.

Step 1 · Width across the door

Stand at the garage door and measure wall to wall, straight across. Keep the tape flat on the floor and measure at floor level, not up at the wall framing.

Step 2 · Depth to the back wall

From the inside face of the garage door, measure straight back to the far wall. If there is a step, a laundry nook or a cupboard at the back, stop the tape there and add it in step 3.

Step 3 · Nooks and alcoves

Most garages have a bit extra: a laundry alcove, a cupboard for the hot water cylinder, or a recess beside the door. Measure the biggest one and we will allow for it.
